What FDM is — and when to use it

Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) builds parts by extruding molten thermoplastic filament layer by layer onto a heated build plate. The process is fast, material-efficient, and capable of producing parts that handle real-world mechanical loads.

FDM is the right choice when you need structural integrity, a wide material selection, or a quick turnaround on functional parts. If you need ultra-fine surface detail or sub-millimetre features, consider resin printing instead.
